Biography
Johnny Nguyen is a project analyst at the Qualcomm Institute (QI) the UC San Diego Division of the California Institute for Telecommunications and Information Technology (Calit2). He is currently the academic advisor for the UC San Diego-Los Alamos National Laboratory education collaboration and manages the Qualcomm Institute Innovation Space (QIIS) Laboratories, Korean IoT Certificate Program, and Information Theory and Applications Workshop.
Before joining the LANL Program, Johnny spent 7 years as the Event Specialist for Calit2/QI. During this time, he planned and executed over 200 events each year, ranging from high level meetings to international conferences. Johnny provides program and project support for complex, multidisciplinary research projects and is dedicated to developing managing customer relationships.
Before joining QI, Johnny was a Marine Biologist at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography, working primarily in the field of marine microbe ecology in Antarctica. He holds a B.S. in Environmental Systems from Revelle College at UC San Diego and a Meeting & Event Planning Certificate from San Diego State University.
